About The Position

Do you enjoy combining engineering, data analysis, and long-term planning to solve complex challenges? If so, we'd love to have you join our growing Asset Management team! At WithersRavenel, our Asset Management team partners with municipalities across North Carolina to help them understand, prioritize, and plan for the future of their infrastructure systems. As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering meaningful projects that improve the reliability and sustainability of critical water and wastewater assets. This opportunity is a hybrid role based out of our Wilmington, North Carolina office.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering field
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• 4+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering, utility infrastructure, asset management or related consulting services
• Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
• Handle multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize responsibilities
• Demonstrate leadership in engineering planning, asset management strategies/methodologies, and technical problem solving
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability and willingness to mentor and lead technical staff

Nice To Haves

• Experience with GIS platforms (ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online), infrastructure data analysis, and municipal utility projects is preferred
• Familiarity with asset management frameworks (e.g., ISO 55000) is a plus
• IAM Certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Support the development of Asset Management Plans for water and wastewater utilities.
• Evaluate infrastructure condition and performance using GIS and available asset data, perform risk assessments, and support development of capital improvement planning.
• Analyze asset condition and performance data to help clients prioritize maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement strategies.
• Serve as technical resource for municipal clients. Participate in client meetings and workshops. Present findings and recommendations to Clients and Stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports and other project deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while building strong client relationships.
