About The Position
The Informed Delivery Mobile Application Developer will design, build, test, and maintain the USPS Informed Delivery mobile applications for Android and iOS. The role uses Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) to share business logic across platforms while developing platform-specific native user interfaces with Swift, SwiftUI, and Jetpack Compose. The developer will build and integrate mobile features, support application releases, and help maintain security, quality, performance, and reliability.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile.
- Native Android development experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Native iOS development experience with Swift and SwiftUI.
- Proficiency with Android Studio, Xcode, Gradle, and CocoaPods.
- Experience integrating REST APIs and implementing OIDC/OAuth2 authentication with PKCE.
- Knowledge of coroutines, Flow, reactive state management, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with secure persistence frameworks and mobile security best practices.
- Ability to build accessible, testable applications and support mobile release lifecycles.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with KMM dependency injection, such as Koin or Hilt integrations.
- Familiarity with mobile analytics tools such as Firebase or AppCenter.
- CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Azure DevOps.
- Agile team collaboration experience.
- Understanding of USPS digital platforms and user experience patterns.
Responsibilities
- Build cross-platform application features using KMM and deliver native user interfaces on Android and iOS.
- Integrate REST APIs and implement secure authentication using OIDC/OAuth2 with PKCE.
- Use coroutines, Flow, and reactive patterns to manage asynchronous data and application state.
- Implement secure local storage using tools such as Realm, SQLCipher, Android Keystore, and Keychain.
- Ensure application quality through automated testing, accessibility compliance, and strong security practices.
- Support application releases using TestFlight, Google Play, and CI/CD processes.
- Diagnose issues, improve performance, and maintain application reliability.
