About The Position

The Information Technology Support Technician for La Jornada provides IT setup and device support of laptops, Chromebooks, cell phones, other employee-issued IT equipment, and physical site changes/adds/moves for ORR-funded programs.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Sensitive to cultural diversity.
Enthusiastic self-starter.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Effective problem solving and decision making skills.
Works independently and as a team member.

Nice To Haves

IT certifications, or in pursuit of certifications, or in pursuit of a degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering preferred.
Experience with device setup and configuration preferred.
Ideal candidate has some education/experience in programming, database management, and technologies like MS SQL, Exchange, Access, and .Net frameworks.

Responsibilities

Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies.
Provide new device setup, configuration, and deployment of PCs/laptops, Chromebooks, cell phones, other employee-issued IT equipment.
Support the IT team in the maintenance of hardware, software, and other systems.
Run software updates and backups when requested.
Provide additional Help Desk support for PCs/laptops, end user, hardware and software support.
May research unusual bugs or issues that are encountered.
Maintain IT La Jornada inventory.
Performs other duties as requested.
