About The Position

IT Project Manager I is an experienced role working under general supervision, providing technical project management and oversight to complex and cross-functional IT projects. This role works in close collaboration with teams inside and outside of the IT department to deliver critical new services, systems, and capabilities to Advarra.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management, related discipline, or relevant work experience
  • Experience managing small, medium, and/or large projects impacting individual teams to entire organizations.
  • Experience or exposure to Information Technology operations within an organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a regulatory or information security framework and how it applies to projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least one Project Management tool or program (Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, Monday, etc).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar.
  • Demonstrated accountability in project participation and solution-oriented work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ticket tracking systems (Jira, ServiceNow, etc).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Planning, organizing, setting objectives, and managing time to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Understand a project’s overall context and value to the organization.
  • Work with subject matter experts to decompose a project into individual components allocated team members can act on.
  • Work with subject matter experts to estimate effort for all portions of a project.
  • Lead on-site and virtual meetings related to ongoing projects.
  • Deliver regular status reports to project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross-functional conversations with project stakeholders, project sponsors, subject matter experts, decision makers, and leadership as required.
  • Evaluate project impact to individuals, teams, and the overall organization and make recommendations to stakeholders for how to manage.
  • Ensure projects are managed in a transparent way ensuring all interested parties can be apprised of progress.
  • Track and document key decisions made during a project.
  • Work with project stakeholders to establish project success criteria. Ensure success criteria is met during project implementation.
  • Convert project tasks to units of assignable work within a ticket tracking system.
  • Clearly communicate emergent risks, challenges, and schedule changes to project stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a current project schedule from estimates from SMEs and committed time from allocated team members.
  • Adjust schedules and re-task allocated team members to respond to business priorities and objectives.
  • Capture lessons learned and process improvement recommendations for leadership once a project is complete.
  • Effectively manage allocated team members without being a direct manager.
  • Provide clear communication to allocated team members about progress and performance.
  • Establish alignment with allocated team members to complete needed tasks.
  • Understand challenges that team members encounter with assigned tasks and determine how to escalate or resolve.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with stakeholders to implement.
