About The Position

This is a first-level supervisor position responsible for project management staff in the Program Management Office (PMO) supporting MDHHS. The role involves providing oversight and leadership for project management functions supporting the agencies. The manager will mentor and support senior and junior project managers to ensure consistent adherence to the State Unified Information Technology Environment (SUITE) methodology. This position will also interface with Agency Services managers and escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree with not less than 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
  • Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator 12.
  • Must attach cover letter, resume, and OFFICIAL transcript to application.
  • Official transcript must bear college/university certification (e.g., seal, logo, watermark, and/or letterhead), Registrar's signature, and date.
  • A transcript with these requirements, with the stamp "Issued to Student" is accepted as an official transcript.
  • Degree certificates are not accepted.
  • When attaching transcripts, name the college/university for each transcript attached.
  • Selected candidates who have been approved to work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan.
  • Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
  • In accordance with federal law, all new employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment.
  • DTMB Human Resources uses E-Verify in conjunction with the federal I-9 form to verify authorization of employment.
  • DTMB does not participate in STEM-OPT.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of experience as a computer programming supervisor or Information Technology Supervisor may be substituted for the education and experience.

Responsibilities

Benefits

  • Sign-on bonus up to $3,500 (up to $1,750 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period)). This does not apply to current state employees.
