Veracity Insurance Solutions, LLC•Pleasant Grove, UT
•$100,000 - $120,000

About The Position

Veracity is seeking a hands-on Information Technology Manager to lead its IT function, including people, devices, identity platforms, and processes. The role reports to the Sr. Manager of Enterprise Technology Operations & Information Security. It combines responsibility for reliable daily IT operations—such as helpdesk, device lifecycle management, conference room technology, and onboarding and offboarding—with initiatives to modernize and scale IT. These initiatives include moving from hybrid on-premises Active Directory to cloud Microsoft Entra, automating account lifecycle processes between Rippling and Entra, and establishing IT policies, disaster recovery plans, and vendor-management foundations. The goal is a reliable, documented, secure IT function that does not depend on any single person. The manager leads and develops the IT team, oversees IT support and infrastructure, administers Microsoft 365 and identity systems, and supports security, resilience, projects, vendors, and governance. The role also partners with People Operations on onboarding and offboarding and delivers organization-wide technology training. Other duties may be assigned as requested or directed.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years in IT operations, systems administration, or end-user computing, including at least 2–3 years leading a team or serving as an IT lead.
  • Hands-on administration of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra in a hybrid environment, with direct experience planning or executing a move toward cloud-only identity.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 administration, including audit log review and eDiscovery across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows device administration, imaging and deployment tooling, and endpoint management such as Intune.
  • Experience with centralized logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk.
  • Experience writing IT policies and procedures and building and testing disaster recovery plans.
  • Track record managing IT vendors, contracts, licensing, and budgets.
  • Experience planning and delivering IT projects with defined scope, timelines, and accountability.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including wireless, VPN, and local connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Strong service orientation and communication skills, including the ability to explain technology clearly to non-technical users and remain steady under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating an HR system with Entra for automated account provisioning and deprovisioning; Rippling experience is preferred.
  • Experience scoping penetration tests and driving remediation, or working closely with an Information Security team on SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Experience developing and delivering end-user technology training.
  • Experience supporting a multi-site or hybrid workforce.
  • Background in insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft MS-102, SC-300, or MD-102; CompTIA Network+ or Security+; ITIL Foundation; or Splunk Core Certified User.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, coach, schedule, and develop the IT team; set priorities and performance expectations, build runbooks, cross-train staff, and conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
  • Mentor team members by identifying learning opportunities, providing technical guidance, and supporting their growth.
  • Lead daily helpdesk intake, triage, prioritization, assignment, and resolution against response and resolution targets; serve as the escalation point for complex or sensitive issues and maintain a healthy ticket queue.
  • Route system and platform issues to the Enterprise Systems team according to the routing standard while owning the user experience through the handoff; maintain a knowledge base and self-service resources.
  • Manage the full device lifecycle, including procurement, imaging, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and secure disposal; maintain an accurate, auditable hardware inventory and manage standardization, spares, warranties, and refresh cycles.
  • Manage conference room and meeting technology, including displays, cameras, audio, and Teams room equipment; support on-site network equipment and physical connectivity, including switches, access points, cabling, and the wiring closet.
  • Plan and lead the transition from hybrid on-premises Active Directory to cloud Microsoft Entra, including dependency assessment, roadmap and cutover planning, and retiring legacy infrastructure with minimal disruption.
  • Guide integration and automation between Rippling and Entra so employee accounts are provisioned, updated, and deprovisioned automatically from the HR system of record.
  • Conduct Microsoft 365 investigations and discovery, including audits, reviewing user activity, searching Teams chats and email, recovering SharePoint and OneDrive items, and selecting suitable discovery tools.
  • Execute endpoint security standards for patching, encryption, antivirus, and compliance configuration; verify and report device compliance, remediate gaps, and promptly escalate suspected incidents according to defined thresholds.
  • Use centralized logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk to review system activity, troubleshoot issues, and identify and escalate potential security concerns.
  • Define penetration testing scope with Information Security and prioritize and drive remediation of findings to closure.
  • Establish, document, and regularly test disaster recovery plans.
  • Support user-level security awareness and phishing simulation programs.
  • Plan and lead IT projects by defining scope, priorities, timelines, resources, and accountability, and keeping stakeholders informed about progress and risks.
  • Manage IT vendor relationships, contract renewals, software licensing, and billing; right-size license counts, reconcile invoices, and track spending against budget.
  • Develop, document, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards, keeping them current as the environment changes.
  • Partner with People Operations to provide new hires with a ready-to-work setup on day one and complete offboarding access removal and device recovery on schedule with documented verification.
  • Develop and deliver organization-wide training on company technology, software, and operating systems.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision plans.
  • Four weeks of paid time off.
  • 10 paid company holidays and 2 floating holidays.
  • 401(k) program with employer match.
  • Personal assistance programs for support in a healthy personal and work life.
