About The Position

The Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) Product Support organization at The Boeing Company is seeking an Information Technology Manager to lead software development teams supporting Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) teams. This role involves managing the entire software development lifecycle, including large-scale agile development, system maintenance, production operations, and airline support. The IPC team provides platforms for data creation and delivery of IPC products to Toolbox Horizon for publishing to airline customers, which are utilized by airline mechanics for servicing Boeing aircraft. The manager will be responsible for leading IT teams in maintaining and developing the IPC suite of applications. This position requires a high-energy, passionate manager interested in modernizing, supporting, and maintaining compliant software, with a focus on building a strong "People Focused" organization. The leader should have hands-on experience in defining, de-risking, and executing IT solutions, and experience enabling highly functional Agile teams and DevSecOps in a compliance-driven landscape with multiple stakeholders. The role involves leading developers across the United States and India. A critical aspect is ensuring the safety of the flying public by understanding the domain, products, processes, and customer expectations for safely maintaining the Boeing fleet. Engaging and maintaining a positive relationship with BCA Customer Support leaders is a critical success factor, requiring transparency. The ability to work with global teams and actively remove roadblocks for the team is also important.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading a team in a technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with software development projects, systems projects, and/or requirements analysis
  • 3+ years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks
