About The Position

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems, data, and voice communications activities at the property. This role provides a high level of IT support services to guests and staff, including 24-hour coverage for computer systems, either on-site or remotely, depending on business needs. The position involves configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of workstation hardware and software, desktop imaging, server and workstation configuration, and backup systems. Responsibilities also include network administration, PC and network troubleshooting, mail server management, and operating system/application software upgrading. The role requires prioritization of multiple projects and demands, anti-virus and firewall management, hardware configuration, and troubleshooting. Additionally, it involves hotel-specific application maintenance and administration, installation of Ethernet cabling, clear communication with staff, positive interaction with customers to resolve issues, and coordination with other hotel departments. The IT Manager may also act as Manager on Duty as required and complete assigned projects.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s, Bachelor’s degree or technical institute’s degree/certificate in information Technology, information systems, or related technology field.
  • 2+ year’s Help Desk, Desktop support experience required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with security management systems.
  • Understanding of advanced desktop infrastructure, commonly used concepts and practices.
  • Knowledge of networking as it pertains to all aspects of desktop support: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wireless configuration (802.11x).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be numbers-oriented, computer-literate including written communication, spreadsheet formulation and online order-entry and computer systems.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal/external customers both in written and verbal format.
  • Deal with the general public, customers, associates, and government officials with tact and courtesy.
  • Ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports.
  • Ability to use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets.
  • Interpret established policies and understand the government regulations pertaining to the business.
  • Make business decisions based on production reports and similar facts as well as on your own experience and personal opinions.
  • See differences in widths and lengths of lines such as those on graphs.
  • Must be able to change activity frequently, and cope with interruptions.
  • Must be flexible and able to work mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends and/or holidays depending on business demands.
  • Must be available to be on-call after working hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospitality information technology experience desired.
  • Knowledge of Opera (PMS), MICROS (POS), and HotSOS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform configuration/installation and troubleshooting of workstation hardware and software, including laptops, tablets, printers and mobile devices.
  • Responsible for desktop imaging and configuration of Server and Workstations and backup systems.
  • Network administration, PC and network trouble shooting, network switch management, Mail Server management, operating system and application software upgrading.
  • Prioritization of multiple projects and demands on a weekly, daily and hourly basis.
  • Anti-virus and firewall management, hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Hotel specific application maintenance and administration and installation of Ethernet cabling.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
  • Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve problems to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Coordinate activities with other hotel departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty as required.
  • Complete projects and other tasks as assigned.
