About The Position

This position installs, configures and troubleshoots computer desktop systems and associated assemblies. Provides support to operational computer desktops by performing the following duties. NANA will provide lodging and transportation for applicants outside the Anchorage/Matsu Valley area. Internships will run from June to August with some flexibility based on individual availability.

Requirements

  • Must be a shareholder of NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., or a direct descendant of a shareholder.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational school full-time and have completed one semester of postsecondary education.
  • Be declared in a major/program of Information Technology or a closely related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, clients or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, word processing software, and MS Excel spreadsheet software.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NANA’s vehicle insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and configures desktop components and associated peripherals.
  • Sets up and maintains basic desktop hardware systems and provides assistance to the ICT Department Supervisor.
  • Performs desktop troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common hardware and software problems.
  • Upgrades desktop hardware and software components as required.
  • Provides users with desktop technical support as well as support with phones, printers, copiers and plotters.
  • Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their use of desktop resources.
  • Installs and tests necessary software and hardware.
