About The Position

IDEMIA Public Security is seeking a university or college IT co-op student for a summer internship supporting IT hardware, software, Windows 11 systems, physical security systems, and end users. The intern will maintain inventory records, help keep systems security-compliant, monitor system and alarm logs, troubleshoot equipment and support tickets, and assist with computer equipment purchasing, shipping, and receiving. This is a hybrid role that requires travel to the office. The listed Canada hourly rate is $25.

Requirements

• Be a university or college IT co-op student with a concentration in server, network, firewall, and physical security systems.
• Familiarity with the MS Office productivity suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with MS Teams and SharePoint.
• Exposure to MS Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Experience with Windows 11 setup and administration.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with Jira or a similar ticketing system for support workflows.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update inventory records for IT hardware, software, and physical security systems.
• Patch and update Windows 11 systems to ensure security compliance.
• Monitor and analyze system logs, including alarm system logs, to identify issues and patterns.
• Troubleshoot and facilitate repairs of laptops, desktops, cell phones, printers, and scanners.
• Respond to and resolve end-user support tickets using various ticketing systems.
• Provide first-level technical support.
• Assist with filling out and processing purchase orders, shipping, and receiving computer equipment.
• Support the team with other IT-related duties as assigned.
