About The Position

The City of Watertown is seeking an Information Technology Intern to support the needs of the City of Watertown. This position reports to the Information Technology Coordinator and will assist with day-to-day tasks. This internship is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in computer systems, basic technical support, and understanding how technology contributes to the smooth operation of the city. The intern will work semi-independently under general supervision.

Requirements

  • High school student (junior or senior preferred) or college student enrolled in information technology or computer science coursework.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer knowledge (e.g., using Windows, web browsers, or Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Information Technology team with day-to-day tasks.
  • Gain hands-on experience with computer systems.
  • Provide basic technical support.
  • Assist in understanding how technology keeps the city running smoothly.
