About The Position

Deliver classroom, laboratory, virtual, and hybrid instruction in Information Technology courses. Teach courses and competencies including: Computer Hardware, Operating Systems, Desktop Support, Mobile Devices, Software Installation and Configuration, IT Troubleshooting, Networking Fundamentals, TCP/IP, Routing and Switching, Wireless Networking, Network Security, Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Customer Service and Technical Support, and IT Professionalism and Employability Skills. Demonstrate industry-standard troubleshooting methodologies. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with approved curriculum. Facilitate hands-on laboratory activities and practical exercises. Incorporate current technology trends and industry practices into instruction. Assess student learning through quizzes, examinations, projects, lab activities, and performance-based assessments. Evaluate student mastery of CompTIA A+ and Network+ objectives. Monitor attendance, academic progress, and student engagement. Provide academic coaching and remediation as needed. Prepare students for certification examinations and employment opportunities. Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and progress records. Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner. Support TWC compliance activities, audits, and school reviews. Participate in curriculum reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain student confidentiality and institutional records. Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities. Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies and IT industry trends. Maintain active industry certifications. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities. Assist with employer partnerships, career services activities, and student recruitment and placement initiatives when requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of recent occupational experience within the last ten (10) years in one or more of the following areas required: Technical Support, Help Desk Operations, Computer Repair, Desktop Administration, Systems Administration, or Network Administration.
  • Experience must demonstrate competency in both computer support and networking technologies.
  • Must possess current CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with individuals from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff, and community.
  • Office environment and mobile.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and able to lift 10-15 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have communication capabilities via cell phone and/or smartphone technology.
  • Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements and ability to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Must meet staff qualifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, Telecommunications, or a closely related field preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include Security+, CySA+, Server+, Linux+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified Professional, AWS Cloud Practitioner and Google IT Support Professional Certificate.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
