An Information Technology Business Analyst I who thrives on analyzing business needs and translating them into technology solutions that improve operations and outcomes.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of the organization's core business process and operations.
General understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
Familiarity with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
Moderate analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated and directed.
Strong customer service orientation.
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related subject OR Two (2) years or more of experience in an Information Technology field
General technical knowledge, which may include knowledge of systems, servers, databases, networks, telecommunications, hardware, and software.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with project sponsors to define project scope and vision
Identify project stakeholders and establish roles, user classes, and their characteristics
Gather user requirements through interviews, workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, storyboards, use cases, and scenarios
Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize requirements
Evaluate software and hardware products for alignment with business needs
Implement and use requirements documentation software as prescribed by the PMO
Ensure proposed or purchased solutions are compatible with business requirements
Analyze and verify requirements for applicability, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, completeness, and conformity to standards
Write requirements specifications accurately and concisely using standard templates
Translate conceptual user requirements into detailed functional requirements
Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide developers and project teams
Conduct peer reviews of business requirements to ensure correct interpretation
Interpret user requirements into feasible options and communicate them to business stakeholders
Track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, enforcing and redefining as necessary
