About The Position

The Multnomah County Circuit Court is hiring an Information Technology Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for on-site support. You will respond to requests for assistance and answer questions in-person, remote, phone, and Microsoft Teams. You will research and resolve a wide range of court technical support issues. You will configure, install, and troubleshoot mobile and desktop equipment, including but not limited to computers, printers, scanners, monitors, public kiosks, and displays at all court locations. You will work with vendors and manufacturers to troubleshoot installed hardware and software. You will manage security access for new and existing court staff and judges. You will manage asset and annual IT technical inventory. You will document any changes to the inventory process by recording disposed equipment and new equipment purchases. You will configure and install Voice-over-IP (VOIP) phone systems, conference room equipment, and Cisco Finesse and Jabber unified communications software. You will be responsible for providing services during an official closure due to hazardous environmental conditions or an inoperable facility. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management, public administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of technical experience in the duties and infrastructure support required.
  • Experience evaluating system efficiency and suggesting improvements.
  • Experience identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Experience with installing and configuring Windows operating systems in a business setting.
  • Experience managing a Microsoft Windows enterprise environment including, but not limited to, desktop/laptop maintenance, support, and network issues.
  • Experience communicating technical issues to a variety of users with different computer skill levels.
  • Strong customer service skills in person, by phone, by email and over chat.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services during an official closure due to hazardous environmental conditions or an inoperable facility.
  • Travel on foot between court locations in downtown Portland.
  • Travel by vehicle to other Multnomah County Court facilities or as far as the Enterprise Technology Services Office in Salem.
  • Enter and work within the Pre-Trial Release Department facilities located inside the jail intake center.
