About The Position

Information Systems Analyst III positions coordinate the development, testing, implementation and modification of complex information systems utilizing both internal and external Information Technology (IT) service providers as resources; perform business process analysis and modeling; perform research to identify hardware and/or software capable of meeting a requirements specification; provide hardware and software technical support to end users in the day-to-day operation of systems; lead IT activities; develop Statements of Work for Request for Proposals (RFP's) by documenting requirements for a business need; and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (i.e., minimum completed units = 120 semester/180 quarter).
  • Three years of full-time professional-level information systems planning management experience (within the last six years).
  • One year of qualifying experience MUST be at a level equivalent to an Information Systems Analyst II with the City of San Diego.
  • Information systems management.
  • Information systems procurement.
  • Information systems project management.
  • Business process analysis and modeling.
  • Providing technical assistance to users on major computer systems.
  • Evaluating and analyzing organizational, procedural, and cost information to provide recommendations for the development or modification of business systems.
  • A valid California Class C Driver License may be required at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ITIL training and/or certification, and/or other technical/IT certifications (e.g., VCTA, VCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA).
  • Solid understanding of IT procurement practices.
  • Experience with data management and analysis.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite to include MS Visio, MS Project, MS SharePoint and MS teams.
  • Working knowledge of PC Based hardware and software peripherals.
  • Experience and ability to use ITSM ticket management system to log, track, and complete incident tickets and service requests.
  • Experience working with Mobile Device Management solutions, processes, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Call Center operations and software (e.g., AWS Connect).
  • Experience configuring and managing a Windows Server and Active Directory environment; enterprise networking equipment; and/or virtual data center & infrastructure (e.g., VMWare, Hyper-V,) and cloud services.
