About The Position

Information Systems Analyst II positions coordinate the development, testing, implementation, and modification of complex department information systems utilizing both internal and external Information Technology (IT) service providers as resources; perform business process analysis and modeling; perform research to identify hardware and/or software capable of meeting a requirements specification; provide hardware/software technical support to end-users in the day-to-day operation of systems; supervise technical support personnel; and perform other duties as assigned. The following general wage increase is scheduled to take effect for Information Systems Manager: 2% effective 6/30/27. Eligible benefited employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (i.e., minimum completed units = 120 semester/180 quarter).
Two years of full-time professional-level information systems planning management experience (within the last five years).
Qualifying experience must include all of the following: Information systems management, Information systems problem-solving, Information systems design and analysis, Providing technical assistance to others on major computer systems which run on a variety of platforms.
A valid California Class C Driver License may be required at the time of hire.
Proof of degree/transcripts, if utilized to meet the minimum requirements.
For City of San Diego employees, proof of Out-of-Class Assignment (OCA), if utilized to meet the minimum requirements.

Nice To Haves

Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education lacked on a year-for-year basis. One year of full-time experience = 30 semester/45 quarter college-level units.
