This role is for an Information Specialist II in the Assessor's Office. The position involves screening and relaying incoming calls or messages, and answering requests for the department's services and applications. The Assessor’s Office mission is to value property by creating a timely, uniform, and fair assessment process while delivering exceptional and professional public service with integrity and respect for the people we serve. The role requires performing skilled information processing work, applying a system of specialized departmental work rules, methods, procedures, and operating precedents to perform a variety of customer service and records maintenance functions. Customer service duties include explaining departmental regulations, policies, and procedures, and communicating work-related judgments and decisions to customers in person, by phone, via online meeting platforms, and through written correspondence. The salary range for 2026 is $21.88 - $29.78 per hour. This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME. St. Louis County requires all employees to be continuously authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and does not provide sponsorship for employment visas.
