About The Position

The Information Security Intern works as a member of the Information Technology Team during Summer 2027. The internship provides practical experience to complement classroom learning and career goals. Interns gain hands-on experience across a variety of IT roles and shadow IT team members to learn about their responsibilities. The role works closely with IT staff in areas including project management, helpdesk support, VOIP, and networking.

The internship is expected to last 10 to 12 weeks during the summer, with flexible start and end dates. The anticipated schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, on-site in South Bend, Indiana. This is a paid opportunity and includes an orientation kickoff and networking opportunities with interns, colleagues, and senior management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Word.
• Good organizational skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic end-user support.
• Assist with help desk calls, scheduling, and entering tickets.
• Assist with, support, and configure hardware and software.
• Assist with software installation.
• Create and update technical documentation.
• Assist with basic networking and VoIP.
• Assist with Office 365 applications.
• Help with project planning and requirements gathering.
• Help with IT inventory tracking.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Complete all compliance training related to the position.
