About The Position

This position will serve as an Information Governance point of contact for software and hardware utilized by Information Governance including implementing, training, trouble shooting, version testing, and data quality. Performs complex analytical or interpretive tasks to support compliance and audits. Applies specialized technical skills as an independent worker under minimal supervision. Responsibilities may include direct contact with staff to coordinate the acquisition or release of information to / from firm's document management system, records management systems, network shares to ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines or complex data conversions; recommending procedural changes when needed for software versioning; documenting software development and procedures; conducting electronic searches / audits; assisting with creation / modification of DMS workspaces; maintaining template references noting class / sub-classifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in work experience) including specialized courses in records management, business law, or computer technology.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in information management relating to electronic data in document management, network shares and records management systems such as iManage, PostMark, PaperStream Capture, 3E Records.
  • Knowledge of management principles, techniques, theories and practices.
  • Strong professional, independent thinking skills with strength in problem solving and the ability to offer constructive opinions and creative solutions.
  • Highly professional with a strong customer service orientation and commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be discreet, maintain confidential information and use sound judgment.
  • Resourceful, focus on accurate work, and be responsible and accountable for finished work product.
  • Team player who motivates and educates others.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Information Governance point of contact for software and hardware, including implementation, training, troubleshooting, version testing, and data quality.
  • Perform complex analytical or interpretive tasks to support compliance and audits.

  • Recommend procedural changes for software versioning.
  • Document software development and procedures.
  • Conduct electronic searches and audits.
  • Assist with the creation/modification of DMS workspaces.
  • Maintain template references noting class/sub-classifications.
  • Identify business requirements to automate processes in IG systems.
  • Coordinate with Information Services regarding systems/hardware for IG teams.
  • Support the Supervisor in testing, troubleshooting, and training requests for IG software/hardware.
  • Improve the quality of data held in IG systems.
  • Communicate directly with attorneys and staff to fulfill support for IG systems and data transfers or integrity.
  • Assist in the development/maintenance of DMS workspace structures and maintain template references with classifications.
  • Aid in the development of IG training and awareness materials.
  • Prepare periodic reports and metrics to convey the operational effectiveness of the IG Program.
  • Assist in large data reviews/audits.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
