About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Office of State Human Resources, Temporary Solutions division. The agency's mission is to provide a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of our greatest asset – OUR EMPLOYEES. This temporary position is located at 1915 Health Services Way, Raleigh, NC 27607- Wake County, with the Department of Health and Human Services. The role involves moving content from legacy systems to a modern platform to strengthen communications capacity, ability to set alerts/make timely updates, support PHAB accreditation requirements, and allow program staff to manage and maintain their own content efficiently. The work includes coordinating and implementing content migration, modernization, and ongoing web management. It also involves assisting DPH section(s)/branch(es) in determining which pages to move, update, or retire, and helping subject matter experts with site structure, content reading levels, and plain language, considering user experience and accessibility best practices. The role requires building/drafting webpages and working through a multi-step review process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, media journalism, English, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in communications, public relations, or publicity work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Word and typical editor tools (bold, italics, hyperlinking).
  • Experience with content management systems and web publishing tools.
  • Experience building and/or managing websites and working with subject matter.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of Drupal is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Moving content from legacy systems to a modern platform.
  • Coordinating and implementing the large volume of content migration, modernization, and ongoing web management work.
  • Assisting DPH section(s)/branch(es) in determining which pages should move, which pages need updating, and which should be retired.
  • Helping subject matter experts think through site structure, content reading levels, and plain language, while considering best practices for user experience and accessibility.
  • Building/drafting webpages and working through a multi-step review process that includes site walkthrough calls/meetings with SMEs to share progress.
