About The Position

This role, Informatics Technical Specialist II, works out of our Core Diagnostics Business Unit in the Digital Health space. The preferred location of the person hired is on the East Region of the USA. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science; information systems; medical technology; or related field.
  • 2 years of informatics technical application experience in hospital or laboratory settings.
  • Minimum of 3 years of systems/instrument software integration and support experience.
  • Must be able to travel up to 80%.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Lab Operations.
  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Medical or Hospital Informatics or related disciplines.
  • At least 2 years of experience working on site with customer facing solutions.
  • 3 or more years of experience installing, configuring and/or maintaining diagnostics laboratory informatics applications.
  • At least 2 years of experience with utilizing analytical skills in informatics using various tools.
  • Proven ability to execute assigned tasks with a high degree of commitment and quality, independently, with ownership and accountability for solving complex problems.
  • Experience database management and healthcare interface experience or relevant comparable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Complex deliveries, and escalation management.
  • Client facing role requiring excellent communication, critical thinking, and other soft skills to ensure high client satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of Laboratory Informatics Systems and how they interact with other systems at customer level.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills; knows when to engage other people in the organization to resolve customer’s issues in a timely matter.
  • Effectively communicates with highly IT technical individuals and people without a technical background both at customer and organization’s multiple levels.
  • Assess information to create implementation plan and partners with other informatics specialist to ensure smooth transition to implementation.
  • Sound understanding of diagnostics laboratory workflows and related technologies.
  • Relevant hands-on experience and technical expertise in implementing, configuring and integrating laboratory information systems, middleware and/or analyzer management systems, or inventory management systems used in diagnostics laboratories.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency and leadership in solutions design, systems architecture, implementation planning, problem resolution, et al, specifically with regards one or more laboratory systems mentioned earlier, and delivering customer value.
