About The Position

This is a remote position, with qualified candidates preferred to live in the Houston or Denver area. The territory covers the West Region with occasional support to the East and Central regions. The role requires easy access to a major metropolitan airport and involves traveling up to 75% of the time. The Informatics Technical Specialist II is a technical expert focused on the end-to-end delivery of AlinIQ Digital Health applications and contributing to Abbott's consumer healthcare strategy at the delivery center. Core responsibilities include complex IT implementation, testing, training, and escalation management. The role is client-facing, requiring excellent communication, critical thinking, and soft skills to ensure high client satisfaction. Individuals in this role should possess a strong understanding of Abbott's applications and may mentor newer or less skilled employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Medical or Hospital Informatics or related disciplines
  • Minimum 2 years in the healthcare industry.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant information technology experience outside of healthcare.
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Middleware application workflow, configuration and operational management experience
  • Pre-analytical transport solutions workflow, and inventory management solutions workflow, configuration and operational management
  • Sels experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the end-to-end implementation, testing and training of the Abbott Digital applications with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Apply technical IT and networking knowledge to analyze user needs; gather customer requirements, design integrated, scalable and comprehensive informatics solutions to improve the automation and informatics solutions for clinical diagnostic healthcare customers.
  • Must be able to multi-task and coordinate with a complex network of departments throughout all levels of an organization such as sales representatives, lab managers, project managers, IT personnel, HIS and LIS personnel, internal and external vendors and contractors, and senior level management as needed.
  • Develops a proven mastery of the Abbott processes and ability to lead by example across the Area delivery organization.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Adheres to and promotes the Abbott Code of Business Conduct.
