About The Position

Informatics Project Coordinators provide support for informatics projects, including project management and reporting, and coordination with Maine CDC’s Infectious Disease Epidemiology Informatics team. Work is performed under administrative direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related fields (Informatics, Biostatistics etc.), and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Two (2) years relevant work experience and training in data manipulation and visualization software such as Alteryx, Excel, GIS, SAS, SQL, R Tableau, Python, etc.
  • Communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Informatics, or related field.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Data manipulation and visualization software
  • Knowledge of Project management
  • Knowledge of Principles and practices of epidemiology and public health surveillance
  • Knowledge of Statistics and statistical software
  • Knowledge of Outbreak response activities
  • Knowledge of Data collection and management
  • Knowledge of Infectious diseases, including risk and transmission
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology
  • Knowledge of Word processing software, email and internet use, spreadsheets or analysis programs
  • Ability to Analyze public health data
  • Ability to Draw logical inferences from data analysis
  • Ability to Pay attention to detail
  • Ability to Organize, disseminate, and report public health information
  • Ability to Be flexible and reprioritize during the workday
  • Ability to Work as a team leader and team member
  • Ability to Communicate with local and federal partners
  • Ability to Work independently, including being a “self-starter”
  • Ability to Facilitate groups

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in informatics team and project meetings.
  • Track project details within chosen tracking system.
  • Ensure staff are meeting necessary timelines.
  • Identify barriers to progress and work to eliminate them.
  • Support informatics grant writing and performance measure reporting.
  • Participate in Data Modernization Initiative efforts.
  • Participate in and contribute to overall Infectious Disease Epidemiology Informatics Program planning and evaluation activities.
  • Additional duties as reasonably assigned.
