About The Position

U.S. Bank is seeking an engineer to join its Identity and Access Management (IAM) Cloud Platform Security Engineering team and support the bank’s cloud adoption. The team develops reusable patterns, templates, and automation for cloud deployments and supports migration of on-premises systems to the cloud. The role focuses on designing and supporting secure cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and GCP, with emphasis on IAM, infrastructure automation, and security engineering. The position partners with application, infrastructure, and security teams to advance cloud adoption and security practices. It develops reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and CI/CD solutions; evaluates cloud architectures and services; defines secure standards and reference architectures; and resolves complex cloud security, identity, and infrastructure issues. The role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience managing and securing cloud environments in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, or similar IaC technologies.
Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or related languages.
Experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and DevSecOps practices.
Knowledge of IAM, authentication, authorization, and cloud security best practices.
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Conditional Access, PIM, SSO, or AWS IAM Identity Center.
Familiarity with CyberArk, HashiCorp Vault, or other privileged access and secrets management solutions.
Experience supporting Windows, Linux, containerized workloads, and cloud-native platforms, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.

Nice To Haves

Administration and engineering of Microsoft Entra ID and related Microsoft cloud identity services, including Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Microsoft Entra Connect, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
Administration of AWS IAM Identity Center.
Administration and engineering of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
Administration of Windows- and Linux-based operating systems and containerized workloads.
Experience with HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, or other secrets management and privileged access management (PAM) solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support secure cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.
Partner with application, infrastructure, and security teams to drive cloud adoption and security best practices.
Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, or similar tools.
Build automation and scripting solutions to enforce IAM governance, compliance, and security controls.
Evaluate and enhance existing cloud architectures to improve security, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Develop and support CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code implementations.
Assess emerging cloud services and define secure implementation standards and reference architectures.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud security, identity, and infrastructure issues while driving continuous improvement.
