We are looking for a Infection Preventionist to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health! This role involves developing and training staff in infection prevention and control, ensuring hospital compliance with accrediting body and CMS standards, and supporting survey initiatives. The position also supports the Director in improving overall care and satisfaction. The Infection Preventionist is responsible for infection control and epidemiology functions for the hospital, acting as a resource for associated facilities. Key duties include writing and reviewing policies, providing surveillance and reporting, offering counseling and education, directing the Infection Control Committee, reviewing sterilization and disinfection techniques, overseeing environmental monitoring, managing outbreaks and isolation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving initiatives for accrediting body compliance. The role also supports quality initiatives like Hand Hygiene compliance, surgical site surveillance, and NHSN reporting, participates in rounding and construction planning, and assists the Manager with budget analysis and planning for capital needs. Backup for laboratory needs is also part of the role. Flexible hours are required to adequately staff the department.
