Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units. Thank you for considering our Infection Control IC and Employee Education Registered Nurse position as we continue our successful opening! The Infection Control / Staff Educator is a Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating the hospital’s Infection Control Program, including infection surveillance, reporting, and prevention initiatives. This role serves as a key resource to clinical teams, providing education, guidance, and support to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. In addition, this position functions as the Staff Educator, partnering with leaders to assess learning needs and design and implement required training programs, while supporting the employee health compliance program. As a member of the Nursing Leadership Team, this position supports overall nursing operations, including participation in the on-call rotation and assisting with staffing needs alongside other nursing leaders, including schedule coverage when vacancies arise. The Infection Control / Staff Educator also mentors new and developing nurses, fostering clinical competence, confidence, and a culture of safety, accountability, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree required.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in staff education, employee health or infection control strongly preferred.
  • Registered Nurse RN license issued by the State of Michigan required.
