About The Position
Congressional School seeks a fun and dynamic individual to work as a full-time Early Childhood Teaching Assistant in our Infant/Toddler program. The individual should enjoy working with children ages 6 weeks to 2 years old. Our teaching assistants, along with our students, get to enjoy our 40 acre campus including our walking paths, creek, horses, swimming pool and dedicated playgrounds.
Requirements
- Experience working with infants and toddlers.
- Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the course of the day.
- Ability to regularly bend, stoop and crouch in order to physically interact with children and ensure their safety.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents, and co-workers.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in a child related field or a child development/early childhood credential.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing the daily program.
- Actively supervise the classroom and playgrounds.
- Observe, interact, and engage with children.
- Maintain proper adult to child ratios with each age grouping and classroom.
- Monitor the playground and classroom at all times.
- Help with meals and snacks.
- Follow daily staffing schedule and assist other classrooms as needed.
