About The Position

Congressional School seeks a fun and dynamic individual to work as a full-time Early Childhood Teaching Assistant in our Infant/Toddler program. The individual should enjoy working with children ages 6 weeks to 2 years old. Our teaching assistants, along with our students, get to enjoy our 40 acre campus including our walking paths, creek, horses, swimming pool and dedicated playgrounds. The position is on float rotation and traditional hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Requirements

• Experience working with infants and toddlers
• Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the course of the day
• Ability to regularly bend, stoop and crouch in order to physically interact with children and ensure their safety
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents, and co-workers

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in a child related field or a child development/early childhood credential

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program
• Actively supervise the classroom and playgrounds
• Observe, interact, and engage with children
• Maintain proper adult to child ratios with each age grouping and classroom
• Monitor the playground and classroom at all times
• Help with meals and snacks
• Follow daily staffing schedule and assist other classrooms as needed
