About The Position

This position is considered Seasonal Full-Time, with an approximate start date in March/April and running through December, including some downtime during the off-peak period. The Infant/Toddler Teacher will plan and conduct classroom instructional curriculum and activities for assigned children to implement a curriculum that encourages the growth of language, social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and communication skills. They will supervise and monitor the work activities of assigned Teacher Aide(s), Classroom Floaters and Volunteers, and conduct and monitor developmental screening of children. This role also involves collaborating and implementing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), monitoring the progress of individual children, and performing daily health checks. The teacher will participate in home visits with parents of assigned children and conduct parent-staff conferences. Additionally, they will prepare, maintain, and present records, documents, reports, reviews, and databases. This role may perform duties of office staff and assist in interviewing, hiring, and evaluation of Teacher Aides. The Infant/Toddler Teacher will represent the MSHS program to community, local and regional educational agencies, and must possess knowledge of and the ability to stay current on new educational practices, techniques, and objectives. The ability to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, provide children with experiences that allow them to develop curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and creativity, and develop and implement clear, reasonable, consistent, and age-appropriate rules and expectations for children are essential. The role requires the ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure, while maintaining standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records. All work duties and activities must be performed in accordance with CC Idaho policies, procedures, safety practices, and Head Start Performance Standards.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Infant Child Development Associate credential (CDA) Or be enrolled in a CDA program that will be completed in 1 years.
  • One year or more teaching or related early education experience
  • Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass physical examination and background checks, including state day care clearance.
  • Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis.
  • Must obtain Pedatric First Aid and CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate credential (CDA); must maintain CDA credential.
  • Associate degree in early childhood education
  • Must be proficient in both English and Spanish, orally and in writing.
