About The Position
United Way Miami is looking for an Infant Toddler Teacher who will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development for children 0 to 36 months. The focus of our work is to provide comprehensive, high-quality early care and education to low-income families living in this area. The ideal candidate understands concepts around Visible Thinking, Multiple Intelligence, Dual Language, Inclusion, Early Literacy strategies, and Reflective Supervision.
Requirements

- 45 DCF hours

Responsibilities
- Complete daily observations of children and create daily experience plans that build on children’s prior experiences.
- Encourage and model appropriate behavior and expectations.
- Capitalize on opportunities to help children build vocabulary by asking the children a series of follow-up questions to get a deeper understanding of the children.
- In collaboration with others in the program, make decisions daily on materials, activities, and environments that provide a balance that supports the child’s learning.
- Responsible for the observation and documentation of each child’s health, behavior, growth, and development.
- Supervise children, following all safety and health rules for the eight children in the classroom.
- Keep the environment safe, clean, organized, and accessible to children.
- Complete appropriate documentation to report incidents and accidents.
