Industrial Wet Painter
About The Position
C.H. Thompson is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Industrial Wet Painter to join its metal finishing team. This hands-on production role applies wet paint coatings to metal parts and components, ensuring finishes meet customer and industry standards. The painter follows customer and quality management system specifications, work instructions, training guides, and procedures, and helps maintain a safe, collaborative work environment. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Overtime may be required. The wage is $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on the selected candidate's experience. C.H. Thompson provides finishing services including anodizing, painting, powder coating, intricate masking, and silk screening, and serves customers across a range of industries. The company is ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and NADCAP certified.
Requirements
- Prior experience as an industrial wet painter.
- Familiarity with paint mixing, spray equipment, and surface preparation techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality standards.
- Comfort with physical tasks including lifting, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
Responsibilities
- Apply wet paint products precisely and proficiently in accordance with customer and quality management system specifications.
- Ensure proper paint thickness and uniform coverage through visual and instrument inspection.
- Follow standard work, training guides, and procedures to meet customer requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of spray guns, paint booths, and related equipment.
- Report inconsistencies or defects in materials, products, or equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with co-workers and management to foster a positive work environment.
- Follow safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
