About The Position
This position performs advanced-level painting and finishing of interior and exterior surfaces and structures. The Wet Coat Painter cleans and prepares paint surfaces and surrounding areas, sands primed surfaces when needed, and mixes paint to exact tolerances according to manufacturers’ specifications to achieve a high-quality finish. The role interacts with shop employees and management and is performed in an indoor work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–2+ years of experience in powder coating.
- Know how to properly maintain and wear paint suits, masks/hoods, gloves, and other PPE.
- Know how to paint using a pressure pot and an HVLP Pressure/Siphon Feed Spray gun.
- Clean the work area after use.
- Know how to use appropriate equipment to hang products for painting.

Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare paint surfaces and surrounding areas.
- Sand primed surfaces when needed.
- Mix paint to exact tolerances and follow manufacturers’ specifications.
- Wear and properly maintain paint suits, masks/hoods, gloves, and other required PPE.
- Move materials by forklift or by hand when applicable.
- Hang and remove products as needed for painting.
- Store paint supplies properly.
- Dispose of paint residue properly.
- Clean the work area after use.
- Use appropriate equipment to hang products for painting.
