About The Position

A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable and have good communication and organizational skills. An Industrial Sewer is an individual with a strong ability to work with their hands, industrial sewing machine operating experience, as well as an eye for detail. Work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction of Secondary Spill Containment Berms and Oil Containment Liners.

Requirements

Have a great attitude and willing to grow with the company.
2-year experience using industrial sewing machine.
Good basic math skills.
Skilled in use of measurement, using a tape measure.
Diligently follow safe work practices for yourself and team members at all times
Must be able to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed.
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

To accurately read and understand written work order instructions and take accurate measurements to ensure quality.
Utilizes power and common hand tools needed to perform assigned tasks.
Work with materials such as vinyl, foam, aluminum and steel.
Prepares material for sewing by measuring, cutting and aligning.
Ability to move oversized pieces of materials onto and off rolling carts (with assistance of others if needed).
Notifies Supervisor when potential problems may arise in the schedule that would affect other departments, as well as problems with the quality of product.
Ability to meet production requirements in each time span.
Complete inspections and conduct rework if needed.
Ensures preventive maintenance is performed on sewing machines.
Ensures daily housekeeping tasks are performed within the area within normal work hours.
