About The Position

Performs painting of asphalt plant equipment and related components in a safe, efficient, and quality conscious manner. This role involves accomplishing all daily painting production requirements and completing assigned paint tasks efficiently. The painter will ensure painting assignments are properly completed in relation to quality assurance, including proper material and equipment usage. The position requires the ability to use paint spray equipment in various positions, as well as manual painting products, and to work at heights using ladders and personnel lift equipment. Maintaining a neat and professional work area, proper clocking in on assigned jobs, maintaining labels on day-use containers, and utilizing proper procedures for material control and disposal are also key responsibilities. Reporting and cleaning up spills, assisting with spill containment, and ensuring proper labeling of waste and used oils are critical. The role demands adherence to all applicable procedures for handling paint products, including restrictions on smoking and sparks in the paint booth building, and the ability to be trained and authorized to wear a respirator. Following company policies, procedures, and safety rules at all times is mandatory. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Must be able to work satisfactorily as a team member.
  • Must be able to meet regular attendance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplish all daily painting production requirements and complete assigned paint tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure painting assignments are properly completed as it relates to quality assurance (proper material and equipment usage).
  • Use paint spray equipment in various positions as well as manual painting products.
  • Work at heights (ladders and personnel lift equipment).
  • Maintain work area in a neat and professional manner.
  • Clock in properly on assigned jobs as appropriate.
  • Maintain proper labels on day use containers as applicable.
  • Utilize proper procedures for material control and disposal requirements.
  • Report all spills immediately and follow proper clean up procedures.
  • Assist with spill containment per training.
  • Ensure that all wastes and used oils are properly labeled at all times.
  • Follow all applicable procedures for handling of paint products.
  • Cannot smoke or allow sparks in the paint booth building except in approved break areas.
  • Be trained and authorized to wear a respirator.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all proper safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
