About The Position

Hazelett Corporation is seeking an Industrial Painter & Blaster to join their Manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves preparing, blasting, and applying industrial coatings to large custom-built casting machines, fabricated components, and other industrial equipment before shipment. The position is critical for protecting equipment from corrosion and wear, ensuring a professional, high-quality finish. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in craftsmanship, and values producing durable work.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of industrial painting and abrasive blasting experience preferred.
  • Experience applying industrial coatings using a variety of spray equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and coating specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • A safety-first mindset and willingness to consistently follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a manufacturing team.
  • Dependability, strong attendance, and a commitment to seeing work through to completion.
  • A willingness to continuously learn and develop new skills.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
  • Lift, carry, and move materials, equipment, and tools weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Work comfortably on and around large industrial equipment, including elevated platforms and occasionally in confined spaces.
  • Wear respirators and other required personal protective equipment for extended periods while maintaining safe work practices.
  • Maintain the stamina needed to safely perform physically demanding work throughout the shift while consistently producing quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by abrasive blasting to remove rust, mill scale, contaminants, and old coatings.
  • Apply industrial coatings, primers, epoxies, and polyurethane finishes using airless, air-assisted, and conventional spray equipment.
  • Paint and finish large fabricated assemblies, casting machines, structural components, and industrial equipment.
  • Inspect surfaces and completed coatings to ensure proper adhesion, coating thickness, and overall finish quality.
  • Maintain paint and blasting equipment, including spray guns, hoses, pumps, compressors, and related tools.
  • Read technical drawings, coating specifications, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Accurately document materials used and completed work.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of respirators, personal protective equipment (PPE), and hazardous material handling.
