About The Position

Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring an experienced Industrial Multi-Craft Technician for their Middletown, VA facility. This role is on the 2nd shift (2:30 pm - 11 pm, Monday - Friday) and offers competitive wages, a gainshare program, and clear opportunities for career growth. The Middletown site manufactures in vitro diagnostic reagents, controls, and calibrators that are critical products used globally in conjunction with clinical diagnostic instrumentation to save and improve lives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year Vocational/Technical certificate in electro-mechanical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on production, utility, and facility equipment.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical plans, technical drawings, drafts, and sketches.
  • Complete all required documentation and data collection for calibrations, PM work, and equipment validations.
  • Work independently to complete tasks while collaborating with other multi-craft personnel to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document all equipment repairs and modifications for data retention and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain proficiency with our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Management).
  • Identify calibration and PM deviations, complete reject forms, and dispose of materials according to placard specifications.
  • Restore and program SCADA and HMI panels using vendor-supplied information.
  • Assemble electrical panels using provided drawings and component lists.
  • Troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical assemblies and power transmission equipment.
  • Proactively recommend equipment and process improvements.
  • Strictly comply with all industry standard safety regulations, company safety rules, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP).
