Repair and maintain industrial equipment to include conveying systems, major machine centers such as debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers. The role requires the ability to read and understand drawings and printed instructions, and the candidate must be a self-starter who can work safely under high pressure situations. A basic understanding in the alignment of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers is necessary. The position involves moving machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks, as well as adjusting tension on nuts and bolts, and positioning parts to set specified clearances. This includes aligning machines and equipment, assembling and installing equipment, laying out mounting holes, replacing defective parts, and adjusting clearances and alignment. The job also involves leveling bedplates, establishing centerlines, and dismantling machines using various hand tools.
