About The Position

Wonderbrands is a leading North American bakery with 140 years of experience in baking packaged breads, artisan breads, and donuts. As one of the largest bakeries in North America, we produce brands such as Wonder Bread, Country Harvest, D’Italiano, Gadoua, and Casa Mendosa. We are expanding our Talent and Development team to support our bakeries and Team Members. The Millwright is a key member of the Maintenance team, contributing to departmental goals through collaborative efforts. Working closely with all team members is essential to ensure maintenance activities are performed correctly and on schedule, adhering to SOPs and regulatory requirements. The primary responsibilities include examining, troubleshooting, and repairing or replacing a wide variety of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components. Additionally, you will provide technical support to the production team during runtime to ensure optimal functionality of all production equipment. Daily tasks, managed through our internal asset management system, will encompass preventative, corrective, and facility maintenance. Additional duties may be assigned to meet operational demands.

Requirements

  • Ticketed or Apprenticeship Level (3-4) in the Millwright Trade
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high speed manufacturing environment (Food manufacturing is highly preferred)
  • High aptitude with Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems (Required)
  • Proven track record working with Lathes, Milling Machines and Welding Equipment (ARC, TIG, MIG)
  • Above average problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
  • Thrives in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook)
  • Focuses on continuous self-improvement

Responsibilities

  • Read equipment manuals and blueprints to successfully complete installations, troubleshooting and repairs
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Inspect and examine equipment to identify irregularities and malfunctions
  • Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective components
  • Operate tools such as lathes and milling machines to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of equipment
  • Assemble equipment prior to installation using hand/power tools and welding equipment
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability
  • Complete Work Orders according to PM and CM schedules
  • Comply with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure that work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and internal LOTO policy
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
