About The Position

C&W Services is the industry leader in cutting-edge maintenance and janitorial programs for facilities ranging from corporate office portfolios and manufacturing plants to large public venues, keeping our clients' facilities running smoothly at all times. This role is for an Industrial Shift Mechanical Technician located in Blair, Nebraska. The position offers a salary of up to $37.88 per hour depending on experience, with working hours from Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Requirements

  • Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
  • Must have working knowledge of using hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
  • Must be able to use hand tools on a daily basis such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers), and rigging equipment.
  • Must be able to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Works from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc. utilizing fall protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
  • Maintain personal tools required for your job to include an up to date documented personal tool list.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion.
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Control Precision — The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Communication/ Expression —The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred, but not required.
  • 4+ years education in industrial maintenance technologies / engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to "Safety First" expectations including PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment in conformance with established standards.
  • Complete assigned tasks with or without direct supervision, depending on the task and employee development.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures, and provide work order feedback on discrepancies.
  • Use hand and power tools daily, including hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, hydraulic pullers, and rigging equipment.
  • Perform welding and use a cutting torch as required.
  • Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, and scaffolding, utilizing fall protection equipment.
  • Work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, as demanded by the job.
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth in performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
  • Communicate with team members to assist in short- and long-range planning to support company goals and objectives.
  • Maintain personal tools required for the job, including an up-to-date documented personal tool list.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
