About The Position

This role is for an Industrial Mechanical Technician - Skilled in Dayton, OH. The technician will be responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance on various industrial equipment, working in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment. The position requires the employee to work without supervision and contribute to the development of maintenance standards. The technician will use a variety of hand and power tools, perform welding, and operate heavy industrial equipment. They must also be able to work from elevated areas, adhere to all company and customer regulations, and meet performance expectations. Accurate administrative duties and positive customer relations are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
  • 5+ years' experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of using hand/power tools.
  • Working knowledge of precision alignment.
  • Working knowledge of rigging.
  • Working knowledge of pipefitting.
  • Working knowledge of welding.
  • Working knowledge of blueprint reading.
  • Working knowledge of mathematics.
  • Working knowledge of Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to control precision of machine or vehicle adjustments.
  • Manual dexterity to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred, but not required.
  • 4+ years education in industrial maintenance technologies / engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment.
  • Ensure repairs and preventive maintenance are performed in conformance with established standards.
  • Work without supervision.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures.
  • Provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Use hand and power tools daily, including hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers.
  • Perform welding and use a cutting torch as required.
  • Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc., utilizing fall protection equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
  • Communicate with all team members to assist in the development of short- and long-range planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Maintain personal tools required for the job, including an up-to-date documented personal tool list.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
