Summary: Based in Wichita, KS, the Maintenance Tech performs essential job functions in the maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities, and vehicles under the direction of the General Manager. Follows priorities set by supervisor and performs work in accordance with companywide guidelines and manufacturer’s specifications. Works to minimize unplanned downtime, improve production quality, increase equipment efficiency, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Requirements

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or permanent resident cardholders.
  • Education – College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; High school diploma or equivalent plus 3-5 years industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Must possess troubleshooting skills with mechanical equipment and be analytical.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases, is required.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member through good communication and cooperation to meet plant goals.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; must have excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize workflow.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to work on problem-solving and continuous improvement of the organization.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the facility’s preventative maintenance program.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of fluid levels, water flows, quench oils, filters, washer soap, and similar items; notify supervisor of issues as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment in the Maintenance Department work area; promptly clean up after maintenance and repair work is completed within the facility.
  • Assist in equipment performance testing per company-wide and manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Perform corrective actions required for out-of-specification conditions as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assist in analytical troubleshooting of issues to maintain equipment, facilities, and vehicles.
  • Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
  • Maintain shop copies of manuals and blueprints in a neat and organized manner; provide others with updated information as required.
  • Run company errands and pick up equipment, materials, and supplies as required.
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Promptly report observed equipment, facility, and vehicle repair or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Make suggestions for changes that would help the facility achieve improved efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Assist in maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
