About The Position

Reporting to the Facilities Area Lead and Shift Supervisor, you will help maintain the facilities and utility systems that support production at our Archbold, Ohio manufacturing facility. You will ensure plant facilities and utility systems remain operational, identify and complete repairs, maintain plant operating equipment, and obtain and utilize a Third Class Steam Engineering license to support boiler operations and provide coverage for stationary engineers and facilities technicians across all shifts.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree in a related field or equivalent maintenance experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment and facility utility systems.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers, frequency drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, refrigeration systems, boiler systems, and heating ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Boiler experience preferred.
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred, including familiarity with process safety, sanitary design, 5S methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for stationary engineers and facilities/utilities technicians during absences across all three shifts.
  • Support plant facilities and utility systems including ammonia refrigeration systems, process safety management programs, air compressor systems, sanitary wastewater drain systems, nitrogen systems, fire sprinkler systems, pump systems, city water systems, wastewater treatment operations, heating ventilation and air conditioning systems, fryer burner and safety systems, boiler and steam systems, hot water and high-pressure systems, cooker temperature and pressure controls, plumbing, and facility repairs.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the building.
  • Plan alternate activities to maximize opportunities during unscheduled downtime or work delays.
  • Partner with production, central engineering, research and development, contractors, and other operational groups to support new processes, production lines, and plant trials.
  • Maintain records and inventories while keeping work areas organized and clean.
  • Follow company safety policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, good manufacturing practices, and 5S standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
