About The Position

Custom Filters Direct is seeking a dependable, mechanically skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our growing manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining our facility, troubleshooting and repairing production machinery, and helping operate automated equipment when needed. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, facility projects, and production support throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, machine repair, equipment operation, mechanical maintenance, or a related position.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs safely.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance tools safely.
  • Comfortable operating production machinery when needed.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize repairs, and respond effectively to changing production needs.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance records, work orders, and communication.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to report to work on time.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, reach, and perform physical maintenance work throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with automated production or manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and facility systems is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production machinery when breakdowns occur.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Operate and support automated air-filter manufacturing equipment, including pleaters, Jewett machines, and other production machinery.
  • Complete mechanical adjustments, equipment changeovers, and minor repairs.
  • Identify equipment problems and determine the appropriate corrective action.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, damage, loose components, and other potential problems.
  • Assist with installing, setting up, and testing production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
  • Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and downtime to production leadership.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, painting, and building repairs.
  • Assist with maintaining doors, work areas, fixtures, and other facility systems.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all company safety requirements.
  • Maintain an organized work area and properly store tools, parts, and maintenance supplies.
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance needs while supporting daily production goals.
  • Perform additional maintenance and production-support duties as assigned.
