Registered Apprenticeship, Industrial Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Accelevation is offering Registered Apprenticeship opportunities in partnership with Sinclair Community College. This program combines on-the-job learning with classroom education, with all costs covered by Accelevation. Apprentices will receive pay increases as skill milestones are met, payment for books and expenses, and dedicated time to attend classes while on the clock. The program is designed in coordination with and recognized by the State of Ohio. Upon successful completion of this approximately 2-year program, apprentices will receive an Industrial Maintenance Technician short-term certificate from Sinclair and a journeyman card recognized by the State of Ohio. Continued employment opportunities with Accelevation are also available, including roles such as Test Technician, Maintenance Technician, Field Installation, and leadership positions.
Requirements
- Must be currently employed by Accelevation.
- Must have completed the introductory period (90-days).
- Must be in good standing and have fewer than 4 attendance points.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required to enroll in Sinclair.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and a letter grade of C or above while enrolled in the program.
- Must be able to pass the entrance exam to Sinclair, which includes math placement.
- Must reside in Ohio.
- Openness to travel to field sites and other manufacturing sites.
- Strong time management skills are required to balance classroom time, homework, and work.
- Must demonstrate Accelevation's 6 core values.
- An appetite to learn and grow your career.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to document findings clearly.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop foundational skills in electrical systems, product maintenance and testing, and blueprint interpretation through on-the-job learning and Sinclair's curriculum.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of power products from assembly through testing and installation.
- Ensure power products are built, installed, and maintained to the highest quality standards.
- Rotate through different departments and work with various leaders and experts.
