About The Position

Custom Glass Solutions is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Maintenance Technician – Multi-Craft to join our Maintenance Team at our Upper Sandusky, OH facility. This opening is currently for night shift, working 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM on a 12-hour, 2-2-3 schedule. Night shift receives an additional $2.00 per hour shift premium. This is a hands-on maintenance role responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment. Our maintenance technicians support all areas of production and play a key role in equipment uptime, downtime response, preventive maintenance, and long-term equipment reliability.

Requirements

  • Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; 3–5 years of experience is ideal
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience with motors, sensors, control circuits, wiring, drives, and industrial equipment
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and related production equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability and willingness to work night shift on a 12-hour, 2-2-3 schedule

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment including glass cutting machines, furnaces, conveyors, robotics, automated systems, and control systems
  • Diagnose electrical issues involving motors, sensors, drives, control panels, wiring, relays, switches, and circuit protection
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, valves, cylinders, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyor systems
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or failed components
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and complete corrective actions
  • Respond promptly to equipment downtime to minimize production interruptions
  • Complete work orders, document repairs, and communicate follow-up needs clearly
  • Support root cause analysis and long-term equipment reliability improvements
  • Use meters, diagnostic tools, and hands-on troubleshooting methods to identify equipment problems
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and equipment documentation
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, sensors, drives, and automated systems as experience allows
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and other support teams to resolve equipment issues safely and efficiently
  • Communicate repair status, equipment concerns, and follow-up needs clearly
  • Assist with installation of new production equipment and support systems
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects
  • Fabricate, modify, or repair equipment components as needed
  • Test and verify repairs, installations, and upgrades for proper operation
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with company safety procedures and applicable codes
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to a strong safety culture
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and performance
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability-focused projects
  • Suggest practical solutions to reduce downtime and improve production capability
  • Support production employees with equipment knowledge and best practices
  • Share knowledge with other maintenance team members and help support team development
