About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician Level 1 for their night shift operations. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment, ensuring machinery is in good operating condition through preventive maintenance and inspections, and adhering to all safety rules and precautions. The technician will work with various technical systems including hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical apparatus, and will be expected to handle complex problems and make informed decisions. This position also involves providing on-the-job direction to new maintenance mechanics and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

A self starter with demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting skills, and decision making skills
Mechanical Systems Experience
Medium Voltage troubleshooting and repair (480 VAC) (24VDC)
Understanding of basic electrical
Hydraulics Experience
Pneumatics Experience
Mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand tools and power tools
Proficient in reading and writing
Basic knowledge of bearings and drive systems
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with metal fabrication and light machine work.
Use various types of welding equipment, Mig, Arc, and flame cutting equipment.

Responsibilities

Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working with and around hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical apparatus
Ability to work on highly technical or involved projects, presenting new or constantly changing problems
Ability to deal with complex factors not easily evaluated and to make decision based on conclusions and findings
Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
Safely handle and work with various voltages and power sources.
Familiarity with metal fabrication and light machine work.
Use various types of welding equipment, Mig, Arc, and flame cutting equipment.
Uses electricians hand tools and measuring and testing equipment
Performs visual and mechanical inspections required to keep machinery in good operating condition
Follows preventive maintenance program as established by the company and performs inspections of equipment and takes preventive action when necessary
Gives on the job direction to new maintenance mechanics and/or others assisting in maintenance work
Maintains continuous improvement efforts in work area
