About The Position

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of equipment as well as the general upkeep of the facility. This position is for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Tech, with hours from 2:30 pm to 11 pm.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics; generally acquired through technical training or previous experience.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently as job needs require.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work with chemicals.
  • Ability to wear a respirator, be in a confined space, and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Willing to certify on forklift.
  • Must actively participate in discussions of equipment, repair, and process improvements.
  • Must work in a safe and professional manner at all times.
  • In case of emergencies, must be willing to work off-shifts and weekends when needed; willing to rotate on-call duties with the team.
  • Entry level of mechanical understanding.
  • Ability to handle basic repairs and PM’s.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to retain knowledge.
  • Electrical knowledge.
  • PLC (Program Logic Controller) circuit knowledge.
  • Efficiently read electrical blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Repair equipment, verify repair effectiveness, and clean the area upon completion.
  • Train with appropriate associates on preventative maintenance and follow up to ensure activities are completed correctly.
  • Ensure equipment is operating safely.
  • Ensure all necessary preventative maintenance is kept up-to-date and documented.
  • Work with contractors on repairing equipment from beginning to end of the process and be present when contractors are in the facility.
  • Complete all documentation as scheduled and assigned.
  • Assist in accurately tracking major/key parts for repairs.
  • Perform 5S maintenance in designated areas of the facility as directed.
  • Work with the team to ensure maintenance items are gathered from the receiving area.
  • Actively participate in discussions of equipment, repair, and process improvements.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner at all times.
  • Identify proper tools.
  • Perform entry-level mechanical understanding tasks.
  • Handle basic repairs and PMs.
  • Perform electrical PMs.
  • Perform gas welding.
  • Perform electric welding.
  • Improve equipment efficiency.
  • Mentor and lead team members.
  • Effectively communicate with management.
