American Wood Fibers (AWF) is seeking a candidate for the 2nd Shift Millwright/Industrial Maintenance Tech (Manufacturing) role in our Jessup, MD facility. The Millwright/Industrial Maintenance Tech will operate in a safe and efficient manner of troubleshooting and repairing equipment and machinery. The primary duties include performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and providing emergency/unscheduled repairs during production. This role is responsible for preparing and setting up machinery for scheduled production runs, performing all maintenance work including bearings and power transmission, motors, low voltage electrical, VFDs, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. The position also involves PMs and repair of all plant and mobile equipment, and may include repair of over-the-road material and delivery trailers, general building maintenance, and other onsite maintenance needs. The employee will read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders, and safely operate mobile equipment including forklift, front end loader, and yard jockey/trailer combination. Additionally, the role requires compliance with OSHA Safety and Health rules, responsibility for the safety, cleanliness, and organization of the maintenance department, communication with supervisors and other maintenance personnel, and coordination of company policies related to the maintenance department. The employee will attend and participate in monthly safety meetings, establish personal goals, and work towards continuous improvement and teamwork. The ability to use CMMS for work logging and demonstrate good time management skills by completing scheduled assignments on time is also required. The employee may be expected to support the Maintenance Manager with other initiatives as assigned.
