About The Position

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is seeking a candidate for the 2nd Shift Millwright/Industrial Maintenance Tech (Manufacturing) role in our Jessup, MD facility. The Millwright/Industrial Maintenance Tech will operate in a safe and efficient manner of troubleshooting and repairing equipment and machinery. The primary duties include performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and providing emergency/unscheduled repairs during production. This role is responsible for preparing and setting up machinery for scheduled production runs, performing all maintenance work including bearings and power transmission, motors, low voltage electrical, VFDs, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. The position also involves PMs and repair of all plant and mobile equipment, and may include repair of over-the-road material and delivery trailers, general building maintenance, and other onsite maintenance needs. The employee will read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders, and safely operate mobile equipment including forklift, front end loader, and yard jockey/trailer combination. Additionally, the role requires compliance with OSHA Safety and Health rules, responsibility for the safety, cleanliness, and organization of the maintenance department, communication with supervisors and other maintenance personnel, and coordination of company policies related to the maintenance department. The employee will attend and participate in monthly safety meetings, establish personal goals, and work towards continuous improvement and teamwork. The ability to use CMMS for work logging and demonstrate good time management skills by completing scheduled assignments on time is also required. The employee may be expected to support the Maintenance Manager with other initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma
2+ years of related experience in industrial maintenance
Mechanical and machinery background with exposure to high-speed equipment
Electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics knowledge
Basic welding experience
PLC troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics
Must have personal set of basic tools & be able to work outside when necessary
Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled productions runs.
Performs all maintenance work including, but not limited to, Bearings and power transmission including chain drives and gearboxes, Motors, Low Voltage electrical, VFD’s, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
Responsible for PMs and repair of all plant and mobile equipment.
May also be assigned to repair over-the-road material and delivery trailers, general building maintenance, and other onsite maintenance needs.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Safely operates mobile equipment including forklift, front end loader, and yard jockey/trailer combination.
Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
Responsible for safety, cleanliness, and organization of maintenance department.
