About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor leads the maintenance function for a high-volume garage door manufacturing facility, with primary responsibility for keeping automated production equipment — including PLC- and motion-controlled roll forming lines, pneumatic systems, and associated mechanisms — running safely and reliably, and secondary responsibility for building and grounds upkeep. This is a hands-on leadership role: the Supervisor both diagnoses and repairs equipment personally and directs a team of maintenance technicians, balancing uptime, safety, cost, and preventive maintenance.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment, including direct experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled production equipment.
  • Working knowledge of PLC-based control systems — Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000 / RSLogix) and Trio motion controllers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems to the component level: motor controls, VFDs, sensors, relays, and control wiring.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with pneumatic and mechanical drive systems (chains, belts, bearings, gearboxes).
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Practical, resourceful problem-solver who can fabricate a fix or fixture when a stock part isn't available.
  • Prompt, reliable attendance and the ability to respond to off-hours equipment issues as needed.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA at this time.

  • Build, run, and own the facility's preventive maintenance (PM) program, adjusting frequency and scope based on failure history.
  • Coordinate PM and repair scheduling with Production and other Department Heads, prioritizing based on safety risk and production impact.
  • Create, assign, and track work orders for the maintenance team, including labor hours and project expenses.
