About The Position

Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, replacing, and installing plant mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for all plant equipment. This includes machinery maintenance, lubrication, PM’s, trouble shooting, repairing, upgrading, welding, fabricating, and possible installations. Responsible for preventative maintenance on equipment, such as any servicing of conveyors, presses, stackers, etc. Be able to read and understand mechanical prints, AC/DC motors, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic diagrams. Troubleshoot, repair and install mechanical components, AC/DC motors, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, bearings, and power transmission. Perform fabrication of equipment (welding both arc and gas) to desired needs. Be able to make adjustments on equipment to improve productivity. Be able to identify and locate unusual sounds that indicate potential trouble. Be able to dismantle equipment to gain access to defective parts.

Requirements

Working knowledge of various types of measurement equipment (dial calipers, heat sensing guns, etc.).
Ability to examine and determine to what degree parts have worn, and repair or replace parts as needed.
Ability to operate metal, woodworking, and hand tools to make and repair parts safely.
Ability to operate all types of hand tools (i.e. drill press, grinder, wire brush, acetylene torch, etc.) normally found in a Maintenance shop.
Excellent attendance and safety record.
Demonstrated ability to follow directions.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work additional and flexible hours including weekends as needed.
Willingness and ability to work all shifts depending on business needs.

Computer skills to work in SAP to acquire notifications, work orders, requisition parts for work orders, and enter time against these work orders.

Successful candidate must pass standardized International Paper pre-employment testing in place for Maintenance positions.
